The special edition of the book Evokativ contains an original photo signed and numbered by Libuše Jarcovjáková.
The book Evokativ features photographs of Czech photographer Libuše Jarcovjáková taken between 1970 and 1989 in communist Czechoslovakia during a dark period of political oppression and lack of personal freedom. But her photos recount freedom, express fluidity, and atmosphere, and bear an authentic and clear-eyed witness to the life of an artist. The book itself is also numbered and signed.
The photo selected for the limited edition is called Horse in the Wallenstein Garden, 1989, Prague.
The book and the photograph are stored in a box covered with red cloth and marked with an embossing stamp with the name Evokativ.
The book Evokativ was shortlisted for the 2019 Aperture PhotoBook Award ‘PhotoBook of the Year’.
